Purpose Dreams

By Asherll Othabanye

Way back, ever since we met.

Too vivid, from as early as I can remember

Your gaze excited me

Your feeling was life to me

Storm clouds in time coloured mine:

“Too ambitious, not too realistic”

Opinion mumbles separation.

I feel lost, who am I? I am grown up now

Chasing my tail with the legs they cut off

Depressed and hoping we can go back to the days.

When I was young and happy,

When I was young and knew better

When I was of pure intention and leaped generously.

For me and my fellow citizens.
