By Rosemary Ekong
I ask that you swallow the rays of sunlight,
Undress darkness
Spit light upon the night.
I ask that you rip open silhouettes,
Illuminate man
Step into his deepest intricacies…
I ask that you steal the moon,
Command times and seasons
I ask that you swallow the stars,
And ask for heaven’s forgiveness
