Holding Back the Tears

Sapphire pearls
Clench burning raindrops
Oceans filling up
Subconscious expecting a moment
Awaiting their favorite setup

Diving in controlling the tides
Raging against the levee
Cracks burst and sorrow spills
Leaving a trail scorched and empty

Cascading crystal skies
Beauty in their downpour
Heavy pain erupting through
Eyes screwed shut
They can’t even look at you
