MAHDIS HABIBINIA

Co-Founder and Communications Director; Copywriter; Creative Non-fiction Editor

Mahdis is a York University graduate with an Honours BA in Professional Writing and a Certificate in Spanish Language Proficiency. She will be receiving her Master of Journalism from Ryerson University in 2023. Mahdis is also a former staff writer for York’s community newspaper, Excalibur, which she later worked for as the executive editor and then promoted to editor-in-chief. She hopes to help writers and artists share their creations on Undivided Magazine during the COVID-19 pandemic whilst uniting creatives. Mahdis is fluent in English, Farsi, and Spanish. And when she’s not scribbling away or editing, Mahdis’ other interests include the outdoors, staying active, and marathon-viewing thrillers or crime shows that oddly bear no impact on her sleep.

SHAHROZE RAUF

Co-Founder and Social Media & Marketing Assistant; Graphic Designer; Fiction Editor

Whether it’s chasing interviews in Montreal or writing fantasy short stories, Shahroze is almost always busy. He graduated in 2020 from Seneca College’s Journalism program as well as York University’s Professional Writing Program, with a Certificate in French Language Proficiency. He worked as the Assistant News Editor with Excalibur, later being promoted as Tori’s successor to News Editor once she graduated. Now, he works at CBC Radio in Montreal as a researcher, working with CBC’s Daybreak Montreal, Let’s Go, and Radio Noon Quebec. Shahroze looks forward to finally being able to edit creative pieces with Undivided Magazine and help creators get the experience they need for their careers. When he isn’t busy, Shahroze can be found singing, sketching, writing, or reading. He’s also a polyglot–fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, French, and of course, English!

TORI SILMAN

Co-Founder and Web Administrator; Publisher; Non-fiction and Arts Editor

Hailing from Toronto, Canada (unless she is on one of her many travels), Tori spends most of her time listening to podcasts, doing yoga, reading, and writing, whether for fun or for work. She has spent her entire life putting pen to paper, which has culminated in her hunt for a place in the writing industry. With an Honours BA from York University in Professional Writing and International Relations, and experience as as News Editor and, currently, Managing Editor at Excalibur Publications and technical writing at ENGIE Services under her belt, Tori is thrilled to help contributors publish their best work at Undivided Magazine, and perhaps write a few things of her own.

CHRYSA DANCEY

Social Media & Marketing Manager; Photography Editor

Having recently graduated from York University with a bilingual (French) Honours BA in Psychology, Chrysa is looking to explore new realms in the marketing professional world. When she isn’t making bad jokes, playing Fortnite, or binging Netflix, she spends her time cooking, skiing in the winter and playing volleyball or golf in the summer. As a hobbyist painter and photographer, Chrysa also has a keen eye for beautiful work, which is why she can’t wait to see all the beautiful photography from our contributors around the world.

BIANCA MAZZIOTTI
